
Our lab studies the organization and function of large-scale human brain networks that support high-level cognition, including memory, social inference, and language. Because these networks vary substantially in their topography across individuals, group averaging can blur the very organization we seek to understand. We therefore map these networks within individuals using a combination of densely sampled functional MRI, behavioral experiments, and computational modeling. Using this approach, we found that the human association cortex contains multiple networks that are closely juxtaposed, functionally dissociable, and idiosyncratically organized within each individual. We share the network estimates, task designs, and analysis pipelines we develop so that other labs can test, reproduce, and extend our findings.
