Qingyi Li

Biography

Qingyi is a Ph.D. student in Developmental Science in the Department of Psychology at Virginia Tech. She is drawn to precision functional mapping and collaborates with Dr. Du to bring these approaches into her study. Her research asks what a parent–child dyad's two brains, taken together, can reveal that neither reveals alone: which aspects of brain organization are shared within a family, how each adolescent departs from their family's pattern, and when this correspondence conditions adolescents' sensitivity to the family environment. She hopes this line of work will eventually help clinical intervention take the family, not only the child, as its unit. Outside the lab, she enjoys spending time in local cafés and trying new foods.
